With his weapon in his hand and medical kit at his side, this soldier is ready to follow the Commander's orders. Containing the Book of 2 Timothy, "Chosen to be a Soldier" features a GI in battle fatigues, his helmet at his feet, his eyes looking up to his Lord, his right had raised in a salute of respect and obedience. On his arm is a patch with the initials of his CO, Jesus Christ.

This soldier was made in the likeness of World War 2 medic, Corporal Desmond Doss, a conscientious objector who refused to carry any weapon but his Bible. He was subject to much persecution in his commitment to his beliefs but his bravery on the killing fields of Okinawa saved the lives of scores of comrades, earning their trust and respect. Doss was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Truman. For more on this remarkable Christian visit www.desmonddoss.com.

"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier." 2 Timothy 2:3-4 KJV
