A regency cotton print dress patterned after an 1800-1810 gown in an old-looking wreath and flower print of yellow and brown on a finely striated brown ground. Bodice and sleeves are lined in natural muslin and the long sleeves are gathered in the back armscye and straight.
Bodice back shows the typical cut of the period while front has built-in bust tabs beneath the somewhat gathered bib that pins to the neckline according to your bust size. The bib is sewn to front skirt panel which opens with long 36" ties on each side to wrap or tie in back (shown). The back skirt is gathered and sewn in beneath the back bodice lining.
This dress might be typically worn with a lawn chemisette with a frilled neckline and is somewhat flexible in the bustline and waist. The bust would fit 35"-38", sleeve length is a bit over 21" , armscye is 19" and bicep is 16", skirt length is 43". Gowns like this are considered waist and hip-free.
