Antique Swiss Thorens cigarette lighter, USA Pat, Feb. 3, 1914 & Nov. 16, 1920. I found an article online about the patent for the lighting mechanism #1,359,003 by Hermann Thorens. An unusual collectible lighter which ignites by pressing the button on the side which releases and opens the spring loaded cover and rotates the knurled wheel against the flint to produce a spark, igniting the wick. You rotate this same button 1 1/2 turns into the body to lock the mechanism and prevent it from igniting. Cleaned and tested. (Shipped without any significant amount of fluid in it.) Extra flint in thumbscrew in base. This is a great lighter with unusual mechanism for the serious collector.
