This is a wheel thrown piece. It was kiln fired to 2000 degrees F, then glazed with a random combination of three raku glazes. It was then fired to 1850 degrees and pulled out of the kiln while glowing bright orange hot, and placed in a container of combustible materials. The flames in the container were allowed to burn for several seconds, then a lid was placed on the container to trap the smoke and starve the glazes from getting any oxygen. This is what creates the nice patterning and coloring (copper, rust, gun metal gray, iridescent yellow gold and blue ) on the piece.

Size: 5.5" diameter, 3.6" high

This is a decorative piece, not for use with water. As with all metallic raku, It's best to keep out of direct sunlight to reduce re-oxidation of the glaze.
