Item # 204 is a smaller economical sized “Book Press” for making books, note pads, or similar items requiring a firmly pressed edge to glue a binding or edge. Made from clear white pine and sanded smooth, there are no finishes or waxes applied to potentially harm your work. This model is designed to press a stack up to 1-1/4” high by 6-7/8” wide. The table is 5-1/2” deep, but longer materials can be used as there is no depth restriction. The side is squared with the front edge, although all sides are in square.

The front edge has a 3/16” step to allow either conventional use, or standing the press on the front end (see picture) to align material both on a table top and against the side rail at the same time. The knobs will clear, thus allowing them to then be easily spun down holding everything firmly in place. This also leaves 3/16” of paper edge exposed and ready for glue, rubber cement, etc. Overall dimensions: 10” wide x 5-1/2” deep x 4” high (top of bolt). A pair of plated 5/16-18 carriage bolts are glued & pressed in. The clamp bar is pressed by using a pair of polypropylene 3 arm knobs with brass thread inserts for ease in clamping down tightly.

Special sizes, materials, or knobs will be quoted on request.
