This stunning mala combines ebony wood, howlite, and sterling silver. It's strung with 108 kamagong wood discs (9mm). Kamagong wood is South Pacific ebony. There are three markers at every 27 beads, which are composed of howlite (8mm) and sterling silver discs.

Mala measures approximately 22 inches (56 cm) around without counting the tassel. It's strung on silk cord and the tassel is handmade.

========

The word “mala” is a Sanskrit term that means “garland,” which is the origin of the word “rosary”. In short, a mala is a garland of prayer beads that is used to count or keep track of the number of times a mantra or prayer is spoken, or to count prostrations.

We believe the attitude with which a mala is constructed is very important. Every mala that we create is made with a meditative mind and pure intention. We take extreme care in creating our prayer beads, from inspecting the beads we select, to the different kinds of stringing materials used, and the type of mala layout that would most benefit the user as well as the beads themselves.

If you are interested in a specific kind of mala that you do not see listed please let us know. We're able to make custom order malas, incorporating specific stones, bead sizes, mala length, or specific configurations.

May all beings be well and happy.
