This is a clear and fun tutorial which demonstrates how to create a pretty little ring bowl out of polymer clay, using a glass form.

I've written the tutorial so anyone who knows the basics of working with polymer clay, and can make simple polymer clay canes, can easily understand it. (Please note, I do not include how to make polymer clay canes used in the tutorial.) Included in the tutorial are:

- A list of tools and materials you will need.
- 18 pages of clear instructions illustrated with 30 large color photos.
- A strong focus on composition.
- Lots of tips and tricks, and a little philosophy (such as, ways to let the clay work for you, instead of working against it).
- And most important of all, I encourage you to play and explore!

The tutorial can be automatically downloaded as a PDF from Etsy, once payment is made.

Who is Melanie West?
I'm an artist in Maine, and have been working with polymer clay for over nine years. My work has been included in numerous books, including Lark's Polymer Clay Masters. I've been featured in Ornament Magazine and American Style. The April 2009 issue of Art Jewelry Magazine includes an extensive article I wrote, describing how to cover aluminum cuff blanks (like the ones I sell here on Etsy). My work is included in the Racine Art Museum's permanent collection, and I have won a couple of Niche and IPCA awards, as well. If you would like to see my work, please visit my website at (You can find my teaching schedule on my site.)
