One of a Kind Artwork by a child with Autism, Language Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

This listing is for the original piece of artwork by Abby as shown in the photograph. It is painted using acrylic paints. It is painted on 106 lb. art paper. This original piece is not framed. It measures 5" x 7" and is suitable for framing. The painting will be signed before shipping to you. Abby wanted me to include a picture of her along with her therapy dog Buster, who is a beagle. Buster goes everywhere (with the exception of school) with Abby.

Abby suffers from autism and expressive/receptive language disorder. Abby cannot have a normal conversation like you and I. We do alot of communication through the use of visual pictures. Autism affects boys more than girls. Abby is preoccupied with circular shapes and mixtures of colors

Although Abby is not a trained artist, the benefits that she derives from such artwork is tremendous. Abby loves circles and most of her artwork is done showing circles. We have alot of fun together creating artwork and I hope that you will find one that you enjoy and will display proudly in your home. Please pass the word around about us. We lost everything (house, car, possessions) and are trying to rebuild our lives.

Autism is a neurobiological disorder that strikes children sometime during the first three years of life affecting cognition, social interaction, and communication skills. No specific cause for autism is known, but research suggests the disability might be genetic. The annual cost of treating and supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders in the United States can be as high as $90 billion. In 10 years, the annual cost could be as high as $200 to $400 billion. Ninety percent of these costs are for adult services. As the incidence of autism continues to rise, the stress on the adult service system will greatly increase. The cost of autism, as well as the characteristics of the disorder, may be reduced by 2/3 with early diagnosis and appropriate interventions such as art therapy.
