A gown in the Italian Renaissance style, One of a Kind, with massive amounts of hand-stitched detail.

Sizing:
This gown best fits people with a 34-36" chest. I now have a 40" chest and the gown does not fit, so there IS a limit to how much leeway the lacing will give you... but having said that, it's fairly forgiving. This style is very loose and wide around the waist, so it's perfect if you've got a bit of a belly, or if you're expecting. It was made to come nearly floor-length on me (I'm 5'9") but it can easily be taken up by your local tailor if you are shorter.

The gown is crafted in two tones of gold brocade. A deeper golden color brocade was used for the bodice and lower sleeves, and a paler golden brocade was used for the skirt and upper sleeves. The underskirt--a full skirt, not simply a front-piece--is done in a soft silky goldenrod fabric. All fabrics are poly-cotton blends. Please dry-clean ONLY.

The trimwork and elaborate beading were done completely by hand. Hundreds of beads adorn this gown, representing hours upon hours of labor.

The gown has several points of lacing. The bodice laces at the sides and the back, and the four gauntlets lace along the inside. This allows for a more customized fit. The sleeves can attach to the gown with lacing, but they can also be left "free floating," depending on the look you wish to achieve. The grommets are metal covered in hand-stitching. This both hides the grommets, allowing them to blend into the fabric, and makes them far more sturdy than if they were left plain.

The gown does NOT include a chemise or blouse. I recommend using a chemise or blouse with very loose sleeves, and "puffing" the fabric out between the gown gauntlets.

The gown was created for Wicked Winder Renaissance Festival 2011, "Fairy Tales Gone Awry." It is a completely One of a Kind creation, and will never be duplicated. Please remember, this listing is ONLY for the gown.

I'm not a photographer and could not capture the gown's beauty. Hugh Casey is a very, very good photographer, however. I STRONGLY suggest visiting the link to get a good idea of the appearance of the gown.

Note that extra beading has been added to the gown's gauntlets since the professional photographs were taken. Refer to my photos to see this extra embellishment.
