This antique gold and red necklace, featuring an elephant, is not just a classy accessory for an oliphant fancier, but it's also a reference to my favorite fantasy novel by Terry Pratchett: The Fifth Elephant

"There is a legend that in the early days, a fifth elephant stood on Great A'Tuin's back, but fell off. It smashed into the surface of the Disc, depositing huge amounts of fat, treacle, gold and other resources."

It was also said that the elephant crashed from the sky with flames - or maybe I just imagine it like that (due to the book cover), but here we have the Fifth Elephant dropping followed by a trail or garnet-colored beads.

I love making jewelry that is classy and subtly geeky!
Necklace is adjustable 15"-17".
Excellent as a Hogswatch gift for a Discworld-loving friend, or someone you know that is really into elephants.

Comes in a "The Turtle Moves" box (seen in the last picture) - makes it easy to give as a gift, or store in your jewelry armoire.
