Soldered Antique 1792-1970 Post Office Department Brass Uniform Button Vintage Men's Tie Clip by Compass Rose Design

The Post Office Department was founded in 1792 with Benjamin Franklin serving as the first postmaster general. The letter carrier logo served as the department seal until the United States Post Office was made an independent agency in 1972 and the eagle became the logo. These genuine antique brass vintage post office uniform buttons are carefully soldered onto silver plated cuff links!. These vest buttons, the type visible on the trainman in the photo, have a fabulous patina from actual wear - these buttons date between 1840 and 1920. A great gift for your father, brother, husband, sweetie or friend!

The button is approximately .5" in diameter and the tie pin is 2" long and 1/4" wide. See photos for details. I have also included an image of a different pair of uniform button cufflinks with a vintage photo showing a railway worker for the Pennsylvania Railroad so you can see the buttons in their original context.

A great gift for your father, brother, husband, groomsman, friend, colleague, or boyfriend!
