Hawaiian locals use the shaka to convey what they call the "Aloha Spirit". Surfers may describe it as meaning "hang loose". Bottom line is, regardless of how you interpret this sign, these are very cool wheel-thrown tumblers! Perfectly sized for your morning juice or for your evening 'adult beverage'. Combine with a bottle of their favorite tipple for a fantastic holiday gift!

This listing is for 2 tumblers.
Dimensions: 3.5" tall, 3.25" wide, volume 9 fl.oz

I threw these tumblers on my potter's wheel from white stoneware and adorned them with shaka-stamped medallions. I hand carved the shaka stamp I use myself. I glazed the tumblers with a bright blue glaze. The bottoms of the tumblers are stamped with my studio logo (Rincon Pottery) and my maker's mark ('M' for Miri). The foot rings are unglazed.

I mix all my glazes from scratch, so I know exactly what is in them. The glazes I use are food safe and do not include lead or other toxic materials. The cups can be safely put in the microwave and dishwasher.
