This light and airy length of luxury was handknit from an amazing skein of hand dyed boucle and brushed mohair yarns tied with knobby ribbon, and metallic goodies. The yarn is from BeSweet yarns, an organization that supports the training and employment of Xhosa artisans (mostly women) in Cape Town and the Eastern Cape in South Africa, one of my favorite places on this globe. Your purchase will help these workers, and the education of their children.

Goats--what amazing animals. From their milk come some of the best cheeses and yogurts in the world. Not to mention the Goat Milk Soaps that I use for my felted soaps! And then there is mohair, made from the gorgeous Angora goat. It's one of the oldest textile fibers in use. Shiny and lustrous, it is also very durable and warm. A thin strand of mohair can be knit up into a gorgeous piece that warms and insulates you against the cold even better than wool can.

This scarf is stunning in its array of texture, color, and shine. It's a showstopper! It will keep you warm, yet weighs just a few ounces.

It measures 4 inches by 6 feet, including the long and lovely fringe made from dozens of strands of mohairs and art fiber.

Hand wash, then roll in a towel to remove moisture. Dry Flat.
