This organic tea blend is designed to help aid mothers during their journey through labor and birth. The herbs used here have been relied on by women for generations as a tonic for our female reproductive organs.

This tea blend is not made to induce labor, instead it is meant to support the process once it has started. Pregnancy blends of Red Raspberry and Nettle can be taken to tone the uterus which will also promote an easier labor experience.

You can brew this blend as you would any cup of tea (steep for at least 3 minutes) or you can make an infusion by using a larger amount of the blend and steeping it in a large mason jar overnight using almost boiling water. You can add honey to it while it is hot to sweeten it up, if desired. The infusion can be stored in your fridge for up to 3 days or you can make some ice cubes out of it to put in your glass of water and sip through labor.

**Each order comes with one infusion pack (to make a strong brew ahead of time and turn into ice cubes or to make a large batch in early labor) and 3 individual cup sized disposable tea bags which should be enough to get baby and mama through.

Herbs:
Red Raspberry Leaf
This herb is the best known, most widely used, and safest of all uterine and pregnancy tonic herbs. Most of the benefits ascribed to regular use of Raspberry tea through pregnancy are traced to … vitamins and minerals found in this plant and to the strengthening power of fragrine - an alkaloid which gives tone to the muscles of the pelvic region, including the uterus itself. Of special note are the rich concentration of vitamin C, the presence of vitamin E and the easily assimilated calcium and iron. Raspberry leaves also contain vitamins A and B complex and many minerals, including phosphorous and potassium.

- Helps Reduce pain during labor and after birth. Toning the muscles used during labor and delivery, Raspberry leaf eliminates many of the reasons for a painful delivery and prolonged recovery. It does not, however, counter the pain of pelvic dilation.
- Assists in the production of plentiful breast milk. The high mineral content of Raspberry leaf assist in milk production, but its astringency may counter that for some women.
- Promotes a safe and speedy pariuntion. Raspberry leaf works to encourage the uterus to let go and function without tension. It does not strengthen contractions, but does allow the contracting uterus to work more effectively and so may make the birth easier and faster.

Nettles
Stinging Nettles have a high mineral content, specifically calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and silicic acid, and Vitamin K making it one of our most nutritious herbs. The sting leaves as soon as the herb is steeped in near boiling water or dried. See Susun Weeds "Wise Woman Herbals" for more information.

- Eases cramping and spasms.
- Diminishes pain during and after birth.
- Helps prevent hemorrhage after birth.
- Reduces hemorrhoids. Nettle's mild astringency and general nourishing action tightens and strengthens blood vessels, helps maintain arterial elasticity and improves venous resilience.
- Increases the richness and amount of breast milk.

Alfalfa
Very nutritious herb very high in both iron and calcium (without interfering with one another as they do in regular vitamin/mineral supplements) as well as Vitamin C, A, D, E, B-6 & Vitamin K and many trace minerals & micro nutrients.
- May help prevent hemorrhaging

Red Clover
- A slight sedative which may help relieve anxiety.
- This herb is full of nourishing minerals, proteins, antioxidants, and phytoestrogens which promote a smooth transition.
- Promotes plenty of enriched breast milk for the baby.

Lemon Balm
- Reduces inflammation. Is also a mild sedative, good for calming the mind.

Peppermint
- Helps relieve nausea during labor and provides and uplifting flavor to the blend.
- Helps ease muscle aches.

Nutmeg
- Reduces Pain
- Prevents Postpartum Hemorrhaging
