This beautiful colorful poplar hand turned bowl would make a wonderful centerpiece for any room or table. It is full of color, and spalting which gives it much character. It measures 18-1/2"W X 3-1/4"T. It would also make a wonderful fruit bowl. Its uses are endless, left only to ones imagination. It would make a beautiful gift and is destined to become a treasured heirloom. Truly beautiful piece of wood! It has a food safe mineral oil finish.

The poplar was once used by Native Americans to make canoes out of. It was used to make dishes, utensils, buckets, troughs, and wagon beds. It was even used in medicane by both Native Americans, and American Settlers. It was not unusual to find this beautiful tree growing to heights of 200 feet and diameters of 12 feet or more in virgin forests. Today those great trees have all but disappeared, except for a small number in the Great Smokey Mountains.

The Poplar tree is a native tree to Ga. This was a local North Georgia Tree that was taken down due to development. No tree is ever taken for the sole purpose of this art.
