La Gardo Tackett was a huge part of the early LA Modernist movement. He served as professor at the Pasedena, California School of ART.

This is an interesting piece from his highly sought after ROCKINGHAM, Cook 'n serve collection...his earliest foodware line.

Rockingham has a mod vintage design and is suitable for preparation, cooking, serving and storing food.

It features a gorgeous luster dark brown glaze over terra cotta clay (red) and has a red enamel handle attached with a triangular metal ring .

This particular piece has a dish that is 6 10/16" in diameter and 1.25" tall. It's lid or cover is
6 1/16" in diameter and is about 4" tall.

It would be perfect for baking and serving a small wheel of brie...or a fist of elephant garlic...
... or to keep your butter out on the counter and covered (the ceramics would maintain a perfect cool temperature if kept out of the sun).

This is truly an interesting and historical piece.

It is in excellent condition without chips, cracks or crazing.
It is marked on the bottom...Genuine Rockingham, cook/serve by Tackett.
It's also stamped with a copyright # and has the original JAPAN sticker.

Highly collectible !
Will be insured upon shipment.
