This is another fabulous hand colored copper plate print from 1783 by Carl Gustav Jablonsky .
Taken from his work Natural History Survey of Insects, it is on chain linked paper with visible plate marks & in very good condition .It has2 faint marks near the lower right, where it says Figure 3 & 4, & a faint mark to the left of the large bottom insect. These are only noticeable under very bright light with your face right up against the print.Of all his entomological works the butterflies are the most desirable due to the fine engraving & wonderful hand coloring.
It measures 10 & 3/4 inches wide by 8 & 1/4 inches high & would look fantastic framed & hanging on your wall- a gorgeous piece from 229 years ago !
If you'd like to purchase another item of a similar size the additional shipping cost will just be to cover the insurance.
