A Victorian modern take on a Japanese style tea bowl / cup that will bring something special to whatever you enjoy drinking (tea to whiskey). A yunomi is a cup with no handle, usually shaped taller than wide for informal tea drinking. This one is glazed in a satin glaze I call (Yellow) Pear with a glossy interior version of the same and pops of sky blue for the Nouveau rabbits' eyes and polka dots.

These cups are ornamented with every type of surface deco I enjoy, giving each one unique rich layers of elegance. I throw each cup on the potter’s wheel and then use a stamp I design and make to impress and alter the surface. My fingerprint is on the other side of each one of the imprints creating a great exterior texture as well as a lovely interior shape to your drink. I also decorate with slip-trailing (the clay version of cake decorating), slip-sponging and underglazes. No molds are used, and every one is truly one-of-a-kind.

My work is both elegant AND intended for your use and enjoyment. Handmade pottery can need (and happily, deserves) a little more love to prolong its life than contemporary manufactured ware. While durable and microwavable, hand washing is recommended. Do not pour boiling, stovetop water directly into handmade ware. “Pre-warming” pieces by filling with warm/hot tap water prior to pouring hot water for coffee or tea is recommended.

4" h x 3 1/2" diameter; holds 16 oz
The clay and glazes are lead-free and food safe.

Your new piece is both elegant & intended for your use and enjoyment! Please follow the care instructions provided for your unique piece. Handmade pottery can need (and happily, deserves) a little more love to prolong its life than contemporary manufactured ware: Because of the abrasive nature of dishwashing detergent, which could eventually dull the surface over time, hand washing is not necessary, but recommended.

Please keep in mind that while my pottery is quite durable, it is still made from clay and can be damaged if dropped or knocked about. Often, flaws created during impact will not be detectable immediately. Impact flaws can develop into a crack or break with use over time.

I cannot replace ware damaged from use.
I don't usually take on commissions, but sometimes take requests. If you see something in my shop and would like it in a different color in my palette, or have seen something not currently available that I've sold in the recent past, please email me so I can consider your request and explain the payment process. Please note, it can take from 1-4 months to complete.
