A Victorian modern floral, handmade cup that will shape your morning coffee or tea into a clover. This classy mug is simple (for me) yet sophisticated, bringing some elegance to the everyday. This cup is also as jubilant as it is chic with its deep maroon dotted with small flowers. Touchably satin on the outside and glossy inside.

I throw this cup on the potter’s wheel and then alter the form by running my finger up the outside of the wall in four places which creates a the overall clover shape, thus it’s nickname of ‘clover cup.’ The handles I make (two pieces) are hand-pulled, formed, and added. No molds are used. I also decorate with slip-trailing and sponging of dots and/or swirls --the clay version of cake decorating, which adds lovely texture and layers. Every cup is handmade by me alone, and is wheel-thrown, altered, trimmed, built, slip-trailed, multi-glazed, and fired twice for your using pleasure.

My work is both elegant AND intended for your use and enjoyment. Handmade pottery can need (and happily, deserves) a little more love to prolong its life than contemporary manufactured ware, so while durable and microwavable, hand washing is recommended.

4” h x 6” l x 4 1/2” d; holds 10 oz.
The clay and glazes are lead-free and food safe.

Your new piece is both elegant & intended for your use and enjoyment! Please follow the care instructions provided for your unique piece. Handmade pottery can need (and happily, deserves) a little more love to prolong its life than contemporary manufactured ware: Because of the abrasive nature of dishwashing detergent, which could eventually dull the surface over time, hand washing is not necessary, but recommended.

Please keep in mind that while my pottery is quite durable, it is still made from clay and can be damaged if dropped or knocked about. Often, flaws created during impact will not be detectable immediately. Impact flaws can develop into a crack or break with use over time.

I cannot replace ware damaged from use.
I don't usually take on commissions, but sometimes take requests. If you see something in my shop and would like it in a different color in my palette, or have seen something not currently available that I've sold in the recent past, please email me so I can consider your request and explain the payment process. Please note, it can take from 1-3 months to complete depending on my schedule.
Kristen Kieffer / Kieffer Ceramics bears and accepts no responsibility for injury or damage which may result from the improper use of Kieffer Ceramics ware; from a product modified or repaired by others; or from abuse, abnormal use, or use beyond normal product life. Our maximum liability to you is the amount you paid for the item(s) purchased. Please read my Care information prior to using your Kieffer Ceramics pottery.
