This glyph represents the cycles of the seasons and the natural forces that shape our living world. The Swastika or Fylfot is an ancient symbol used in almost all lands to represent the earth, sun, lightening and the motions of the cosmos from atom to galaxy. Here, it is composed of serpents, symbols of the flow of life force through the rain, the blood and fire that animates all things.
This banner celebrates the Four Directions, the Four Elements, the Four Seasons in a cyclical dance of transformation wherein every moment is a sacred holiday. This is the Fifth Element of Spirit, the 5th Direction of Here in the Center of the perpetually moving vortex. Each season pursues the next, devours and is reborn again and again as the Earth and Sun continue their spiral voyage through eternity.
The artwork for this banner was hand drawn by Arun. Each serpent is a continuous line. They were then hand printed on black canvas that was then cut and serged by him. 22" X 27".
