This is a video that I created as I made the Golden Mean earrings also known as the Mother and Child design. The video is just under one hour long and it takes you step by step through the process so you can make your own. These instructions are repeated in two different gauges and can be scaled to create the earrings in any size you want.

I divided a wire circle into the Golden Mean proportions. I then forged the two ends into a domed spiral curve like an opening flower.

One end is then cradled inside the other creating a subtle sense of nurturing. Hence, the name "Mother and Child".

This video also includes a lesson on the Fibonacci Number Sequence also known as the Golden Mean Proportions. These proportions can be used to design just about anything resulting in a very naturally pleasing design.

The video comes in a DVD that you can use on the computer or on most DVD players. You can pause it at any point and you also have the option to jump to selected scenes.
