This offering is for ONE lamp, the DARKER colored of the two....please see the other separately. The blacksmith might have had to have been a woodworker, as well.....Wood spoke Wheels,...can you imagine?? wooden hubs from an unknown wagon. ...the metal bands seen on these hubs are not original, just ornamental -----would have been made of iron,...i'm not sure if these even had strapping of iron, the wood shows no scars.........the patina of the wood is SO lovely, smooth to the touch--i adore these....found them in a jumble sale absolutely barn dust coated....I spotted a gem in the rough:-). I have long loved Americana and the history of the west and westward expansion...my own family immigrated across the land to wind up on on the western US in the 1850s. Oregon Pioneers. These are not matched and so I'm offering them separately. This lamp is likely oak. You want to touch these, lovely wood and patina--this, the darker hub lamp looks like a possible commercial offering..This one has working socket, tested....however, anyone acquiring vintage lighting might be wise to do or have a pro re-wiring,,,just to be safe! I have always used low watt bulbs in older lamps....the curly $ savers burn cool, so they are a good safe choice, too...........any nice earthy shade will do (kmart, thrift shop. Will also possibly need a glass globe. ...it is the base that counts. It NEEDS a little old enblish or a cover up stick...and oiling....you can see a couple scratches to the body---mostly, GREAT...the metal band is not perfect either....please write for extra pics, etc. I have seen these for upward of 400.00 from specialty shops......make ME your specialty shoppe!:-) and save a lil dough ray me.....
The hub is 11 tall by about 8 across. I expect 12 pounds ship weight, boxed. ..I have some and will add a replacement weighs 9 pounds not boxed. Will require parcel post, and a rate is only guessed at, here., and represents CA to NY...closer to CA you are, the lesser the cost., just write and send your zip! Thanks! GOING to add in a BETTER pic, too.....so check back, if you are interested!
