This fabulous vintage Art Deco bottle or decanter is by William Goebel, Germany, from the 1930s. The cubist ceramic bottle is a clown with his nose in the air and a bouquet of flowers. He's handpainted with designs and hearts in yellow on white ceramics, and the head is the stopper.

The bottom is incised and stamped with the Crown Mark logo, TMK-1, used by Goebel between 1934 and 1950. It also has the incised pattern KL 852 and is stamped Germany. Goebel is best known for Hummel figurines.

The bottle is in very good condition, except for the head. The bottom has no chips or cracks and almost no signs of wear. The head (the stopper) has some darkening around the neck and a small chip right on the rim. The cork is missing (I added a new wine cork just to keep the head from falling off). There are also a few light lines of crackling on the head, but no other chips or cracks.

Size: 8 3/4 inches tall (22.2 cm)
