Antique playing cards for Denver and Rio Grande Western and the Western Pacific Railways circa early 1900s. Gorgeous deck of cards depicting points of interest in the west produced by the DRG and W as a souvenir set. Beautifully tinted photographs on face sides and a lovely gold trimmed rendering of the railway on the reverse. A rare and lovely trip back in time. Each card contains a different vista on the face side tinted in shades of gold, blue, green and pink. Edges of cards lined in gold, much of it still in tact.

A sampling of subjects included in photos/cards:

Spruce Tree House, National Park, CO
Trout Fishing in the Gunnison River, CO
Western Pacific Crossing Great Salt Lake, UT

Includes original box in red cardboard. Some wear and water damage to the box but all lettering and great old font still legible. Box in good vintage condition. Cards in good vintage condition with no tears, holes, loss of image. Some loss of gold trim on the reverse sides of the cards and edges. Wear and minor flaws on the cards...results of use and enjoyment.

Unfortunately, this is an incomplete set with a total of 51 cards, including a joker. No 5 of hearts.

For the collector of railroad memorabilia, collector of antique games, use in a display or altered art. Just beautiful Americana.
