Mizuhiki is a traditional Japanese paper string.
The core is made of Japanese paper.
Silk(artificial silk threads : rayon) is wrapped there.
Mizuhiki knots, called “Awaji”, “plum” and “turtle”, are known to be good fortune in Japan.
Mizuhiki knots mean keeping evil spirits away and also binding people together.
9 colors are set.
Each color has 5 strings.
Pink: 6 colors x 5 = 30 strings
Purple: 3 colors x 5 = 15 strings
Total: 45 strings
The gradation is very beautiful.

The rayon, film, or cellophane wrapped around the Mizuhiki strands can easily fray, so please handle them carefully when tying.
Also, pulling along the Mizuhiki with your fingernails may cause the color or coating to peel off. Please use tools or the pads of your fingers to gently soften and shape the strands.
