A story of uzbek embroidery will be incomplete without mention of skull-caps so favoured in Uzbekistan. The patterns of these men's and women's head dresses are unusually variegated and picturesque. In the past skull-caps were worn mostly by men. Now that they have become part of a woman's attire the art of ornamentation of skull-caps has become tremendously diversified.

This one is a beautiful "Duppi" (Skullcap in Uzbek) it is handmade embroidered in Shahrisabs Region of Uzbekistan Embroidered in chain stitch technique in old Lakay tribes style. The size of circumference is 22 inches or 55 cm. Condition is good. Fully handmade embroidered with silk threads.
