This awesome mug was fired in a wood kiln to 2350 degrees. I made it from a red stoneware clay and fired it upright on five pieces of wadding. One quarter of the cup turned a bluish gray color from the heat and ash of the kiln, and the rest is varying shades of brown. The kaki glaze I used dripped a little down one side of the cup, and on the inside it changed to a metallic deep brownish red with darker crystals growing along the walls. As well as being beautiful, this cup has a comfortable wide handle, and feels nice in the hand.

I sanded all the crusties off this mug, so it's nice and smooth. It is non toxic, as well as food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.

This mug measures 3 5/8" tall, about 3 1/2" wide, and holds a little over 2 cups.
