This is another unique instrument from Barefoot Boogie Guitars. This 3 String Guitar was made from a Cuvee Blanc Cigar Box. It has an Oak neck and a Black Walnut fretboard.

These types of instruments have roots from the Deep South (1800’s) where folks that did not have money to buy instruments, would use scrap materials to make their own. Many times, they would use a wooden box, broom handle, and 1-2 wire strings. This one has obviously taken it to a new level, and is very unique.

The neck is made of Red Oak. The Fret board is made of Black Walnut, and has White Perloid Fret markers. The nut is made of Buffalo bone, and the bridge is made of Black Walnut and Brass. There is a piezo pickup installed under the bridge. A hard tail fashioned from Oak is at the end of the guitar where the strings are attached. Sound holes are lined with Brass trim, and the bottom 4 corners have Brass trim as well for protection, and a finished look. String action is set to Medium-High, so it is ideal for slide guitar playing.

This Cigar Box Guitar still opens, so you can easily get inside.

The neck of the guitar has several coats of boiled linseed oil for a satin smooth finish.

This is a quality made instrument. I'd really encourage you to use the zoom on the pics to see the workmanship. There is a difference!

The bridge is floating, which means that it is not glued down, and can be moved to correct any intonation down the road. If you ever change out the strings, just keep in mind that the distance from the edge of the nut to the top of the bridge is exactly 25.5 inches.
