  • Vintage from the 1960s

Offered here is a Viscawide-16 ST-D panoramic camera from the early 1960s. It is an unusual, brick-shaped camera that is dense and sturdy. The camera is just under 5" wide, just over 2" deep and just under 2 " tall, making it one on the largest subminis. There were two variations of this camera, and this is the first.

This camera produces 10 exposures per roll of film. The image produced is 10x46mm on specially-loaded 16mm film. The lens, which uses a swinging lens/shutter principle found on larger panoramic cameras, is a Lausar 25mm F3.5 lens with a shutter range of 1/60-1/300. The angle of view is 120 degrees. The bottom of the camera is flat so that the camera can be easily used on any flat surface for stability. This item is in beautiful condition, but has not been tested. It would make a great antique collectible.

DIMENSIONS: 5” x 2” x 2” (approx.)

WEIGHT: 17.2 oz

I was disappointed after receiving this item b/c there were some dust smears visible through the viewfinder. This is the camera I used to learn photography. It was Nikon's beginner's SLR sold '82-'86. I tested this with 6 different film types noting the camera functioned well and smudging did not impact the images. my old one went out. I used it pretty heavy 2 years. Sparingly after. Stopped taking a battery charge. This is not the Nikon that lasts a lifetime and does not approach the quality of intermediate Nikons at the time and was priced about $150 in '84. Good: it is very light & compact. Has programmed, AP & manual modes. I bought this to replace an old gift. Bad: It is full of plastic parts and potential problems that won't be worth fixing. It's a learner and is good for that but don't expect years of continual use.

Had an issue when I received this camera. I promptly contacted Jeff and we made plans to exchange. He honors his exchange policy and I am so happy for it. I have since sent over 100 shots through the camera and it has worked flawlessly. Very happy, thank you

As described, works well. My first roll came out so nicely! Had no problems with the camera, but learning how to use older cameras has a learning curve.

This camera was exactly as described, packed with care (and lots of bubble wrap), and shipped right away — excellent shop!
