For the body of this striking hat, I have used some red hand-woven cotton that I got in Guatemala in the late 80's that has light green, dark green, turquoise and blue threads pulled through the red. The triangular accent in the front is vintage Indian embroidery and mirror work. A piece of Indian embroidered trim that has checks of many colors along the bottom edge. I also sewed a piece of that same trim at the back closure. For the top, I have combined bands of the red cotton, red cotton with turquoise and green threads and the Indian trim. The colors of this hat are curiously both brilliant and subtle. It is lightly padded and fully lined with a black and blue ikat that has a touch of red.

This hat measures 23" - 25" in circumference and is medium large to extra large in size. There is a Velcro closure at the back to allow for easy adjustment.

When you wear one of my sturdy and unique handmade hats, you are bound to get compliments. This style of hat looks good on both men and women. This is a comfortable hat that can be folded and carried in a bag or a large pocket.

My versatile hats work equally well with casual jeans, funky outfits and dressy clothes. They also look great with dreads, a scarf or turban.

Some people wear these hats high on their head and above the ears; others wear them low on the head and over the tips of the ears. They look great both ways.

I can make adjustments to a hat that you like, but need a different size. Just send me a note and tell me what you need. Customizing a hat for you is no problem at all. Please take a look at my positive feedback.

For reference, traditional hat sizes range like this:
21 ½” - 22 ½” is small to medium
22 ½” -23 ½” is medium to large
23 ½ - 25 is large to extra large
