Pattern File Information: This pdf file contains 9 pages of step-by-step instructions along with full-color photographs to create the journal you see in the photo above. A complete supply list is also included upon purchase of the class.

Pattern Description: You'll learn how to turn a brown paper lunch bag into a faux leather journal. You won’t believe it’s not leather!

Supplies needed to make this journal:
Heavy Weight interfacting such as Pelmet Vilene, Peltex 70, Timtex or Fast2fuse: 1/2 yard

Paper lunch sacks (brown paper bags or brown kraft paper) – at least two per faux leather journal you want to make.

Fabric for the inside lining of your journal 1/2 yard

Mistyfuse fusible web – 1 small packages white or black
Reynolds baking parchment or a teflon pressing sheet

Paper to use for the inside pages of your journals. Standard printer paper is fine or if you like you can use a nicer cotton or linen paper from the office supply store. I recommend a 24lb. You can also purchase large sheets of drawing, sketch or water color paper and cut them down to size.

Brown opaque acrylic, textile or craft paint.

Coffee Bean (or something similar) colored rubber stamp pad (again this is to make a a faux brown leather look journal) I like the Brilliance rubber stamp pad brand but any brand will do.

Leather or suede cord to use as a tie wrap for the journal.

Optional: a sealer to coat the outside of the journal such as acrylic wax or soft gel medium

Twine, linen or embroidery thread to sew in your signatures
Tapestry needle
Awl or other sharp object to punch holes
