I am going back to Turkey in June for a month, to facilitate the trip and clear out the studio, until I leave everything will be 20% off. Use coupon code SPRING2012 to get 15% off and FOLLOWER for an additional 5%, if you liked me on Facebook. It is a great service to my pottery and to see the incredible things that are about to happen. If you don't do Facebook you can still get that discount by handing one of my cards to a friend; I will send two. This discount is not combinable with my return customer coupon.

Hand thrown from porcelain and high fired to cone 10, with an orange blue crystalline glaze. I designed my mug form with a narrower mouth in order to hold the heat in. My mugs are lighter than the usual so they will not cool down your drink.
Because it is made from porcelain, the mug is both light to hold and more sturdy than earthenware. The Ottoman-inspired handle is also superlatively comfortable and ergonomic. This mug would add an element of beauty to your everyday experience of enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. 12oz. Signed by me.

Microwave and dishwasher safe.

Crystalline glazes form zinc-silicate crystals within the glaze body during a controlled firing. The glaze, having the raw ingredients for the crystals, literally crystallizes during the cooling of the kiln. However the crystallization occurs around 2200° Fahrenheit, so the finished product will not change at all though time. One of the things that fascinate me about these glazes is that the background and the crystal are of the same chemical composition but when the crystal nucleates it turns the glaze around it, to its own orderly form. I find this very analogous to life, and can’t help feel that there is a bit of life in there.
