Handwoven Shawl with Handspun and Natural Dyed Yarn
This unique shawl was hand woven on a Tri Loom with yarn that was handspun, and some of it was hand dyed with native plant materials.
The shawl is mainly handspun natural silver/brown/gray yearling romney wool that is very soft to the touch and has a lovely hand. The yellow wool was purchased from the Amish in Kentucky and was natural dyed yellow with goldenrod and mimosa. The dark blue gray is yearling romney carded and spun with border leicester wool dyed denim blues. The two ply yarn was all spun on my Ashford Traditional wheel and the shawl was then woven on my tri loom, and the fringe added.
The shawl measures 62 inches across the top and 31 inches from the center of the top to the point of the triangle. The fringe is and additional 5 inches on both sides from the top to the point.
It is brand new and snuggly soft and warm.
