This is an emu egg pysanka in a beautiful red color. The front and back of the egg has a white floral design. The sides are decorated with a delicate white lace design which surrounds the egg.

To create this egg, I use the pinhead method also known as the drop-and-pull pinhead method. In this method, mostly used in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Lithuania, a pin stylus is used as a tool. The head of the pin is dipped into hot wax and applied to the eggshell. There are two basic techniques used in this method - wax-embossed and wax-resist. This egg is wax-embossed, so the wax persists on the eggshell, forming a raised wax surface that you can feel when touched. The embossed texture is similar to a delicate lace.

The egg has several coats of a matte finish to give a beautiful, natural look, along with strength and protection for the egg.
Its measures approximately 5.75 inches from top to bottom and 3.50 inches from side to side.
The egg comes in a white gift box, with an acrylic egg stand and an information card. It makes for a beautiful gift for you or someone special in your life.
