A 6 7/8" tall antique BLUE SPONGEWARE pattern butter crock w/ original lid. This crock is not marked Redwing but it is pictured, along with lid, in some of the books on Redwing stoneware.

The condition is excellent, it is clean with NO cracks, hairlines, chips, breakage, damage, etc. The lid too is in good condition.

This antique crock was found with several antique bottles years ago in Butte, Montana. The bottles were hand blown bottles dating from very early 1900 and further research shows that these were butter crocks and were being manufactured prior to WWI.

It seems these crocks turn up from time to time in the SW Montana area but other than this, they are scarce to find. A great example here, hard to find in this condition with original lid!

Excellent antique BLUE SPONGEWARE butter crock w/ lid REDWING Stoneware
