A young boy with a sweet, slightly worried expression. Probably a bit overwhelmed by all of the fuss the picture involved! He has a funny little hat with a feather in, and a matching, culturally influenced outfit, down to his sweet little embroidered socks. He sits on a chair, and the edge of the white backdrop behind him is visible.

A good exposure, yellowed with age. Some scratches, a few chips and slight bends. Generally good condition. There is a small, pinpoint sized mark on the boys face, below his eye. A real treasure.

These make great decor, and add a distinctive antique intrigue to crafts and art projects, or for making your imaginary family tree!

About 4 inches by 2.75 inches.

What is a tintype? An early photograph, from the last half of the 1800s. Light sensitive emulsion coating a thin piece of metal. Unlike modern photographic processes, this process did not create a negative, meaning that every tintype is one of a kind, completely unique! Tintypes are an important part of photographic history - their relative inexpensiveness and sturdiness made them available to a wider audience, making photography the most democratic of art processes!
