This is a good sized Empire, Victorian era footstool that has a needlepoint top depicting a large magnolia flower.
The base is a mahogany flame veneer edged with a fancy wood trim. The lower supporting base has two fancy mahogany fretwork cut pieces with a center turned stretcher. The underside shows all original woods.
One side has a split (pic #2) that was repaired, but a good repair using a wood dowel(can be seen when stool turned over), not a nail or a screw. A few scratches that are normal wear.
Dimensions, 17" long, 14 wide and 12" high.
