Thimbles were given as love tokens in Victorian times when gifts of any type were discouraged between men and women. Peter Pan and Wendy exchanged thimbles and acorn buttons as kisses. In American Colonial times when items of jewelry were prohibited for moral reasons a thimble was the gift from a fiance to his future bride as a symbol of love and pledge of eternal togetherness. When she married the women removed the bottom of the thimble to form more of a wedding ring. With such a long history of thimbles as a tender gesture of affection I have created a series of one of a kind thimble necklaces.

"Second star to the right and straight on till morning"
This simple but very pretty vintage thimble has a narrow band of star detail at its base. It is joined on a star shaped charm ring by an acorn crafted of a silver plated acorn bead cap and a natural faceted Prehnite stone bead. Prehnite is the stone of unconditional love and is believed by some to bring one to higher spiritual planes and enhance spiritual growth and precognition. The charm ring hangs from a 20" Figaro style chain which closes in the front with a hook and eye clasp. All metal elements on this piece are solid sterling silver except the bead cap which is silver plated. Pretty kisses for you or the one you love to kiss!
