"Protect That which Is Precious Today" is the name which I gave to this, my latest sterling dragon pendant. I must admit that my favorite dragon of all time was the Luck Dragon from "The Never Ending Story" and this dragon looks a bit like that one. He is curled around and protecting a precious egg, in this case an 8 by 10 mm oval Orissa garnet cabochon. His eye is a 3 mm faceted white cz. Both stones are securely and smoothly bezel set. I cut his body from sterling silver and used assorted stamps to texture it before soldering it to the sterling back plate. Fabricated by hand in my own studio. The sterling metal has an oxidized and polished finish.
The pendant it 1 5/8" high and 1 1/2" wide with a sterling ball deco at the very top. It's name, "Protect That which Is Precious Today" is stamped on the back, along with my Wood Thrush Studio makers mark (a "W", the likeness of a wood thrush bird and a "T") and a sterling mark.
It comes with an 18" black rubber cord with handmade sterling “S” clasp. If you would like a different length please let me know at time of purchase. Suggested lengths might be 16”, 18”, 20”, 24” or 28” – or any length you would like.
This would also look good worn on your own sterling chain. I have chains for sale also – please see my other listings for chains.
I prefer Paypal or credit card but I do accept personal checks or money orders. There will be a 2 week wait for personal checks to be cleared. I ship using US Postal Service first class.
(((Commissioning a similar pendant? This would be great made into a birthstone pendant. I made this dragon pendant with a Orissa Garnet as the main stone but I have many, many other 8 by 10 mm oval stones in other colors - please go to this page:
to see photos of stones to choose from for a commissioned pendant. A commissioned pendant with a different stone may be priced higher or lower - please contact me before ordering so I can make you a listing with the correct price. A commissioned pendant will be finished in 2 weeks time. A commissioned item will be very similar to the item shown, but since it will be handmade there may be slight variances)))
