Vintage Wedgwood "Edme" Queen's Ware cream colored plate with ribbed rim and sepia transfer print of the Houses of Parliament, from the "Old London Views" series, First Edition, 1941.

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks

10.5 in. (26.7 cm) diameter

Impressed Wedgwood mark on the back and map of Houses of Parliament with the history of the landmark; "Wedgwood Old London Views, Sponsored by the British War Relief Society U.S.A., Wedgwood of Etruria and Barlaston, Made in England"

The original series of plates consisted of 12 views of old London, promoted by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Inc. of America and sponsored in the early 1940's by the British War Relief Society, who received 33 percent of the sale profits to aid war-beleaguered England.
