This wide-eyed creature was an unusual find, even in Hawaii. We at first couldn't figure out where it was from or what type of animal it represented, though its wide eyed stare and decorative dots pointed to origins in Southeast Asia. Its ears, hooves and suggestion of a long tail hinted of cattle.

The hybrid mixture of Hindu and animist beliefs in Bali sometimes include elaborate bovine statues. While this standing figure is fairly simple, some of its details resemble the Bali creatures.

This one is 9" tall and 12" in diameter at its widest. Its upraised arms hold a shallow receptacle for holding a small plant or candle. The figurine is painted mostly in dark brown with a few accents of deep cinnabar red and yellow ochre. A few minor scratches and scuffs are scattered around the surface.

We will wrap and ship this unique find with care in recycled packaging. If the actual shipping costs are lower than indicated, we will refund one or two dollars after shipping.

Thank you!
