Shades of peaches, blues and browns sprinkle over this 39" x 53" lovely little quilt suitable for many uses. It evokes of happy times at the beach with shades of sand and sky!

I see it in a baby's crib ready to become a favorite, thrown over a chair or used as a tablecloth in a shabby chic interior, a comforting lap quilt for that special senior, to a day sitting on the beach enjoying the view!

I used a braided piecing method for the peaches and blues and a crisp white for the stripes. I quilted the braids 'in the ditch' and used my rambling leaf and vine stencils for the white. I used a palest peach thread on this quilt to add a bit more color in the actual decorative quilting.

The backing is a subtle, but coordinating blue, peach, hints of red and white print fabric which compliment the front just perfect!

I bound this quilt with the white cotton binding machine stitched for added strength. I always bind my quilts with a double fold/double stitched binding because quilts naturally receive a lot of wear and tear on the edges.

I machine quilt every inch to two inches on my quilts which involves a tremendous amount of stops and starts and thread changes. I quilt on my home sewing machine (which can LITERALLY be a pain in the neck (and arms-and back!) with some of my larger quilts!!) using chalked stencil markings or free motion quilting which I make up along the way. This takes a super amount of time which I have to make up for in my pricing, but I think well worth the extremely personal touch.

I, and only I , have touched my quilts and worked it at every step of the process..from dreaming at 2 a.m. of your new quilt - from fabric shop -to planning -to cutting - to stitching - to finishing - to packaging - to you!!

I have already prewashed this quilt making it lovely and puckery and soft and ready to be loved.
It washed up beautifully.

I used Soft and White cotton batting - the fabric is 100% cotton.
Gentle cold machine wash, no bleach, gentle warm dry or lay flat to dry. I always include a Shout Color Catcher.
Your quilt will get softer and softer with use and lots of love!

I can ship internationally but because the costs would be very high, I have guesstimated the shipping below. I would let you know exactly how much it would be before I entered into a transaction with you to be fair.

My sewing studio is away from the rest of the home - we do have a beautiful cat but he never comes near my quilts - though he would love to!! We have a complete smoke-free environment however.

If desired I can personalize a label with custom embroidery for the recipient from info supplied by the buyer which can be attached to the bottom right hand corner of the back of the quilt for an additional $20.00.

Most of my quilts are not prewashed so you can expect shrinkage of both cotton and cotton batting up to 3% with the first washing. Washing should be done on a gentle delicate slow cycle, cold washing, no bleach, mild detergent, lay flat to dry and tumble every 15 minutes to fluff. Handwashing is highly recommended for optimal care of a quilt.
My quilts are usually not a standardized bed size. The fabric 'speaks' to me telling me just how small or large it wants the quilt to turn out! :)
Many of my quilts are a large throw size although I have made both larger and smaller as well as table topper size. All sizes are listed to the inch in the item description. Because my quilts are bound and finished, I am unable to make them larger, as has been requested many times.
