One of two fabulous antique wedding bodices dating to the 1800s. Thesy are both French and were deacessed from a museum. The tags of the date the museum acquired it is still on this garment. It came from an American museum on the East Coast. It is very small as most of them were and it is in excellent condition. I have tried to show details but the pictures don't capture the beauty of the embroidered silk trim. I see no rips or stains. I have shown the inside that has the original stays. The pearl buttons down the front are all there but it looks like one was moved over to accomodate the dress form it was on. This is a wonderful piece of history and would be fabulous on an old dress form or framed and hung on a wall. Perfect for study or copy as a costume. Very small measuring 27" bust, 19" waist buttoned, and a 14" wide shoulder.
I have more photos so feel free to inquire if you are a serious buyer.
