That’s right! The cover of this book is my very own handmade paper created from dried banana peels, recycled papers, and onion skins! The result is this beautiful and textural paper cover.
Paper is wrapped around recycled compressed card board and adhered with acid-free glue. Inside covers are finished off with more of my handmade paper. Bound with waxed hemp cord and has an attached cord to wrap around and keep book securely closed when not in use. Spine has an internal hidden reinforcement to withstand wear and usage.

Contains 96 pages (48 sheets) of white sketch paper.

Measures: 4 ½” x 6” x 3/4”

All of my banana peel papers are created solely by me. The banana peel s are air dried then boiled with soda ash to neutralize the PH. Using a house hold blender, I blend the peels in water with bits of acid free paper to produce the paper pulp. I create these papers in small batches and each sheet is unique to the next. I am grateful to all my friends and colleagues who continually save and donate their banana peels to me, as it takes about 4-5 peels to create a single 9 inch square sheet of banana peel paper.
FUN FACT: I don’t eat bananas.

Thanks for stopping by,
Courtney
