These are the bristles which have fallen off street cleaning machines. I've foraged these from various roadways along the West Coast- Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland... now I have included some from our recent trips to Iceland and British Columbia (who knew they'd look the same, all over the world?)

These have so many potential uses- in collage, assemblage, mixed media, altered art, artist trading cards, jewelry... I've seen them used in sculpture to make spheres or baskets as well. The varying patinas and steel tones give them a great industrial look!

These wafer-thin spring steel strips are amazingly strong, yet still fairly flexible. No two are alike, and each bears its own unique patina, shape, and marks from use. You will receive 30 randomly selected strips similar to the ones pictured here.

* * * * * This batch of pieces is shorter than usual -- the strips all measure between 5" and 6" long. All are 1/8" wide. Looking for longer lengths? They're over here: * * * * *

Packaged carefully in recycled and re-imagined materials and shipped via USPS First Class Mail.
