This is a lovely scarf jointed round container. I think it was used for making cheese, but I'm ready to be proven otherwise. It could also be an old pantry container.
It's in good shape for it's age , and is very sturdy. It's held together with small nails. There is some discoloration and corrosion around the nails. The bottom has shrunk away from the sides a bit. Also, there is some warping around the nail join. Please see the photos for details.

The wood is approximately 3/16th of an inch thick. It's scarf jointed and the overlap is about 5".

It's 5"high and 8 1/2" in diameter
