Handcrafted white stoneware (Danish porcelain) ewer and dipping bowl made on the potter's wheel. Thrown and altered bowl and ewer, high fired to 2350 degrees f. in a soda kiln. Both pieces are flashed in the soda vapors to a toasty, almost copper color and accented with a soft creamy yellow, and accented with strokes of green, daubed with red. We use our ewer to serve good olive oil for dipping fresh bread, olives and cheese. Ewer holds 10 oz. of oil, plenty for your dinner party.

Dipping bowl: 7 x 7 x 2 in.
Ewer: 5.75 x 5.5 in.

These ewers are relatively new forms, fun to make, and I think they will look good on the dinner table. The soda surfaces, with their muted, almost leather like finishes, are getting to be exactly what I am hunting for, and I look forward to making many more.
