Here's a charming spring-y sprig of Bleeding Heart flowers just for you!

This gorgeous vintage botanical by Joseph Prestele is printed on a heavy glossy paper and it's just as smooth and flat as the day it was printed a quarter century ago. This pretty print's colors are still fresh and lovely and it's in wonderful smooth and flat condition too.

It measures 5.5" x 5.5" and with it's white border, it's 8.75" x 12" overall. It's printed on the reverse side as well, but the paper is so heavy that nothing shows through. This pretty stem of simple spring blossoms would be ever so dramatic framed.

Matted, framed and displayed as a gallery grouping, these over-sized vintage botanical book prints are simply spectacular. (Please note that the framed examples in the last two photos are just to show how this might look when it's matted and framed. Your print will come unmatted and unframed.)

Surrender Dorothy offers a non-stop jaw-dropping cornucopia of frame-worthy antique and vintage prints, drawings, ads, sketches, plans, lithos, engravings, posters, maps, charts and illustrations of all kinds to adorn every room in your happy home. Terrific finds to gussy up your workplace too.

Joseph Prestele was a botanical/agricultural/horticultural artist from a family of botanical artists. He contributed to the documentation of fruits and flowers by his lithographic artwork in a time when accurate color reproductions for publications were expensive, difficult, and rare.

Joseph Prestele, was a renowned lithographer using stone engraving and taught his sons Joseph Junior and William his craft of stone engraving lithography, watercolors, chromo lithography, and variations of stone lithography.

Joseph Prestele and his two sons enjoyed international recognition for their precise renderings of plants and fruit, which remain as fresh to this day as when they were first painted in the mid to late 1800s.
