French Vintage Linen Cloth with Red Stripes and Monogram Tape

This listing is for one linen blend cloth or 'torchon' as they are called in French.

These cloths were a common feature of French kitchens and become whiter and softer with every wash. I often use them in my crafts because of the high quality, durability and drape.

They are still prized in France because of these qualities and they are getting harder to find.

This particular tea towel has 2 narrow red stripes bordered by 2 wide red stripesdown each long side and there is a piece of monogram tape with the inititals 'HG' attached to one corner. There is also a hanging loop.

Perfect for your shabby chic cottage kitchen but would also look great in a modern one too. Or, as I do, use the lovely linen for pillow covers, bags or other crafts.

Small flaws and imperfections are common but do not detract and sometimes there are small discolourations and fold marks due to the age of some of these cloths however, this particular one is unused with no obvious imperfections apart from faint storage marks.

I have 2 cloths like this so, if you would like them both, please adjust the quantity at checkout.

It measures approx. 22" wide x 32" long.

Machine washable at high temperatures.

Thank you for looking.
