This rug hooking kit is hand drawn on cotton monks cloth. It comes with all the wools cut in one quarter inch strips necessary to complete the kit and also the pattern, rug binding, a color key, easy to follow instructions and a solid maple Moshimer rug hook. I can't tell you how many people have taught themselves traditional rug hooking (not latch hook) using these kits. The completed rug measures 6 1/2 X 9 1/2 inches and would make a great wall hanging, table centerpiece, candle or teapot mat when completed. Lots of people hang these hand hooked mats from old cupboards or make little pillows out of them. The snowman is hooked with primitive oatmeal heather and the background with my own over dyed spruce green. For a finishing touch I added a row of cranberry plaid just inside the edges of the piece, the same color used for the snowman's tie. The only thing you'll need in addition to these items is a small frame to put your pattern into. Most people start off with a wooden circular or oval quilting or embroidery hoop which can be purchased at most craft and sewing stores. If you'd like to see how this fiber art is done just google "primitive rug hooking". There are several video demonstrations on the internet. Any questions just email me and thanks for taking the time to look at my items.
